Bristol Costa Coffee franchise owner Lynn Montgomery plans to run between her shops in Henleaze, Bristol and Portishead as part of her training regime for the Virgin London Marathon in April where she will be raising funds for the Terrence Higgins Trust.
Lynn, who lives in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol usually travels between the two franchises by car but the training run is being planned as she builds up her stamina for the event in London where she will be raising funds for the THT, the HIV and Sexual Health charity for the UK.
Said Lynn: “I don’t know what the staff will think when I arrive in my running gear but it is just the right distance and I am building up the mileage at the moment with the plan to make the run soon.”
At least I know there will be a good cup of coffee waiting for me at the end of the run!” Lynn continued.
Originally from Thailand, Lynn is raising money for the Terrence Higgins Trust because she has seen the effects that HIV and AIDS has on families in her homeland.
She ran the Bristol Half Marathon last year and has set up a fund-raising web page at www.virginmoneygiving.com/lynnmontgomery where she is asking for donations for the Terrence Higgins Trust.
She said: “The Trust does wonderful work in the UK for those with HIV and AIDS and I have seen first hand in Thailand how it can affect families and take young lives.”
“I am carefully building up the training runs before the London Marathon where I am sure the atmosphere of the day in London with all the crowds will make it an unforgettable experience.”
