Bristol’s LGBT Switchboard To Close

It has been announced that Bristol’s Lesbian and Gay Switchboard is to close permanently because of a shortage of volunteers.

The service which currently runs on a Tuesday and Wednesday evenings is no longer able to find volunteers to man the phone lines. The Switchboard which provides support to people concerned about issues to do with their sexuality, as well as to anyone with concerns about a friend or relative has been running since 1975.

It is hoped that the switchboard will be able to provide an alternative service based in London, which would be available every day of the week between 10am and 11pm.

We regret that the Pridewest website will close on 31st March 2020, unless further funding for it’s maintenance can be found.

We hope you found our service useful since our online debut in 2001, but we cannot subsidise our overheads any longer. Should you wish to donate a small amount to keep this website online (even £1) please visit www.crowdfunder.co.uk/help-keep-pridewest-online
