The History and Heritage is set to come alive in September thanks to the first annual Pride of Wiltshire Festival. Wiltshire Museums, as well as the people of Wiltshire, are celebrating the county’s heritage with the first Pride of Wiltshire Festival & Pride of Wiltshire Awards.
The festival organisers have planned a packed, heritage-themed programme of events to bring the county’s past, present and future to life, which will all take place in the picturesque location of Hamptworth Estate, located in the south of the county.
Mayors from all over Wiltshire, local and county council members will be invited to attend the event which is said to ‘offer a window into Wiltshire’s vibrant heritage and a chance for people to learn about the divers mix of people who live and work within it’.
Highlights include an opportunity to find out more about our splendid cultural groups, a chance to take part in events throughout the day and evening.
This will be a varied and illuminating festival highlighting the excellent work our fantastic community members do all year round throughout Wiltshire and shows how much each community group has to offer.
The Pride of Wiltshire festival will be launched on Friday 13th September 2013 with two events continuing Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September 2013.
The Pride of Wiltshire Festival will also be launching a new county award called The Pride of Wiltshire Award of which more details will be announced shortly. During the packed three days, the festival will include mainstream and cultural music, food and entertainment, the Jennings Fair and much much more.
