It’s time to Hibearnate!

With deep winter approaching it’s time for Bears to think about settling down, but not before one last party weekend from Friday 29th November to Sunday 1st December – The Southern HiBEARnation 2013.

Organised by the people behind the yearly Bear Fiesta, the team are have decided on an Emergency Services theme, so are paging all Dishy Doctors and Naughty Nurses, calling all Furry Firemen and Cuddly Constables and putting a shout out to all Cubby Coastguards, Manly Mountie’s and Portly Paramedics to come along to Bristol’s gay village in the historic Old Market area to set pulses racing and bells ringing as we welcome in the winter in style…and then get ready to sleep it off until next year!

Starting off on Friday night is the ‘Meet & Greet’ event, being held at the Old Market Tavern from 9pm – 11pm – “C.S.I Brizzle, Club Scene Instigators”. At midnight, the first club night of the weekend at The Den is planned , where DJ Trojo will be rejoining us after his great set at Bristol Bear Fiesta 10 back in June and bringing us his popular mix of commercial dance, pop and handbag to get you dancing ’til dawn!

On Saturday, there is no set main event in the daytime as most guys like to wander in to Cabot Circus and Broadmead just a few minutes from the Village for a spot of Christmas shopping, however in The Palace, ‘Santa’s Bulging Sack’ is an indoor market event where you will find a variety of goods on sale including t-shirts and design prints from Hartzak , all manner of bear and cub themed goodies from Grizzly Gifts and home-made candles from Furwebs.

Later in the evening, The bars and clubs in the Village will be open for business as usual all evening and in to the night, before the main event of the evening ‘Inferno’ is being held at The Retreat from Midnight with a warm up set in true BBF ‘Press Play’ style before we hand over to Bristol’s resident beary DJ, the fantastic DJ DADDI, at 1am who will join us again straight from his regular slot at The Old Market Tavern.

Sunday sees Greggs Anatomy (who ate all the pies) being held at The Phoenix from Midday, where food will be available to those who have made advance bookings by 24th November.

Full details of the weekends event can be found on the Southern HiBearnation website.
