Finishing touches are being made to Pride Celebrations in Bristol, with headline acts A1 & Corona being announced for Pride Day on Saturday 12th July.
Producing hit after hit and amassing a massive 12 top 10 singles around the world a1 were the ultimate 90s boyband, and have recently made a re-appearance taking part in itv2’s The Big Reunion. CORONA became the undisputed queen of dance music globally with follow up singles including Baby Baby, Try Me Out, I Don’t Wanna Be A Star and will be appearing as the afternoon headliner at the festival.
The Pride Day event itself will be hosted by Boogaloo Stu and will feature many acts on it’s Main Stage including urban performers VOIS, electro girl band Love Beats Riot, Katherine Ellis, The Showbears – who took part in Britain’s Got Talent, Kate Bush tribute act Cloudbusting and international artists Iskwé and America’s Hi Fashion both asking to perform as part of their world tours.
Meanwhile on the Cabaret Stage, Sequins, heels & singing are promised with the very best talent from the South West and London to bring you something really special. Acts include
The Bristol Banshees, Miss Penny, Cherry Poppin, Miss Tina Sparkle, Fanny Dazzle and Drag with No Name.
A Community Area and market stalls will also be set up and is a chance for people to interact and ask questions from campaign groups, political parties, service providers, businesses supporting LGBT people and local LGBT groups ranging from social to sports.
The Pride Day itself finishes with an after-party being held at Bristol 02 Academy, which features a headline DJ Set from The Freemasons – One of the most successful dance acts in the UK boasting remixes for major artists like Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Kylie as well as their own productions and collaborations with the likes of Adele, Hurts and Emile Sande. Responsible for hit’s like Heart Break Make Me A Dancer with Sophie Ellis-Bextor, with a new album is due Summer 2014 they have just released U Drive Me Crazy ft Joel Edwards.
Also at the afterparty, Hi Fashion and Another Night will be present in Room 2, and Room 3, named ‘The Parlour’ will host Harry Clayton Wright with a fully immersive and fabulously theatrical paparazzi photo booth parlour. Bristol’s best clubnight DJ’s from Wonky, Hush and Boom will also feature.
