Bristol is once again readying itself for the annual Bristol Bear Hibearnation event.
With deep winter approaching it’s time for Bears to think about settling down, but not before one last party weekend from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th December with The Southern HiBEARnation – Boogie Bears!.
The organisers behind both annual bear events in Bristol – Bristol Bear Fiesta & Southern HiBearnation, have planned a weekend of 70’s and 80’s music in Bristol’s thriving gay village. So whether you prefer disco, rock or pop etc, it’s time to start strutting your funky stuff, shaking your booty and dancing dirty. So dig out those flared jeans, sequined shirts or platform boots from the back of the wardrobe.
This year’s event will have a no charges, as the organiser’s explain ” After June’s successful and popular ‘Bristol Bear Fiesta 11: Bears At The Beach’, we put our heads together with some of the venue owners to see how we can make BBF and SHB even bigger and better and one obvious answer was to do away with the door charges for the club night venues. This left us with the problem of how to raise the funds to cover the cost of running both annual events – and so The Bristol Bear Bar have reinvented the original old monthly bear club nights and now since June have held ‘BEAR PIT’ once a month with DJ DADDI playing live and a £1 entry fee – and it has proved a quick success so many thanks to The BBB for that ”
The weekend’s events kick off on the Friday Night from 7pm with Disco Inferno, the Meet & Greet event, at the Bristol Bear Bar. The Palace and The Retreat will also both be open all night with their own club nights as part of our SHB7 weekend.
On Saturday, An indoor Christmas Market will be held at The Palace from Midday until 4pm with stalls from Grizzly Gifts, ShoutOut Radio, Simon Alderson Glass and many more.
Later on Saturday, the disco theme returns with Saturday Night Fever, In the Bristol Bear Bar the night starts at 7pm with DJ LT FLUFF taking us through until the early hours of Sunday morning.
