Now is the time to register if you wish to take part in the parade at this year’s Swindon & Wiltshire Pride.
Organisers are appealing for all those interested to register by joining their Facebook Event.
The parade theme has been announced as ‘Carnival’ so the committee are suggesting that you think headdresses, big outfits, feathers, sparkles and lots and lots of colour.
“We have chosen this theme as it is about celebration, having fun and showing off your true colours! The LGBT community has come along away over the years and we need to celebrate that. Bring along Banners, balloons, signs and even whistles. This is going to be Swindon & Wiltshire prides biggest parade yet!” said a representative of the event.
Those wishing to take part in the parade with a car would be required to pay a charge of £100 and need to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Swindon and Wiltshire Pride is proud to provide a free event that is open to everyone, organised by volunteers for all to enjoy. The event is a safe and fun environment for members of the community to come along and meet new people and make friends. It also helps break down barriers and build bridges between the LGBT and non-LGBT communities, it helps to educate and remove pre-conceived judgements that people may hold regarding individuals that identify as LGBT and access to many various support services.
The event, which is now in its 8th year, last year attracted a crowd of 2,500 visitors, as well as many local LGBT groups and performers.
OMG Nightclubs, who have a club in Bristol, have recently been announced as Parade Sponsers.
