Bath Celebrates Pride

Bath will celebrate it’s very own Pride event this weekend.

Following hot on the heels of the most successful Bristol Pride to date, Bath will stage it’s very own Pride Celebration during the Bath Carnival, this weekend (15th July).

Bath Pride will join Saturday’s Bath Carnival procession, marking the beginning of a new chapter for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the city.

Organiser Nik Jovcic-Sas told The Bath Chronicle – “It’s about time Bath stepped up and has its own event. The reaction from people has been incredibly positive, but they are surprised that it hasn’t happened before.”

The Pride procession block will be led by the group GayWest, Mandalyn’s bar and Bath Light Operatic Society Group who will lead with music from Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Organisers from local charities including Bath Amnesty, Off the Record and Bath Gender Equality Network will also be holding a street stall at the bottom of Milsom Street from 11am until 4pm.
