Welsh singer and actor Taron Egerton posted a racy tribute to pop icon Elton John to make his birthday on Monday (25 March).
Egerton, who will play John in upcoming movie Rocketman, posed in tiny gold hot pants. He teamed this with a gold jacket.
‘You are just about the most extraordinary person I’ve ever met’ Egerton said.
‘In honour of your birthday, here’s a photo of me (as you) in some hot pants’ he also wrote.
Described as an ‘epic musical fantasy’, Rocketman is the story of how ‘shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight’ became the one and only Elton John.
Jamie Bell stars as Elton’s longtime lyricist and writing partner Bernie Taupin.
Meanwhile, Bryce Dallas Howard plays John’s mother, Sheila Farebrother.
Also in the cast are Richard Madden as Elton’s first manager, John Reid.
‘I feel that the movie we’ve shot is absolutely a celebration of everything that Elton John is, and part of that is his sexuality,’ he continued.
Egerton also told Gay Star News it was ‘important’ to him to fully explore that part of John’s identity in a genuine and authentic way.
Dexter Fletcher, who was brought in to finish Bohemian Rhapsody after Bryan Singer’s firing, is directing Rocketman.
Many are therefore wondering if Egerton will receive the same awards consideration as Rami Malek did for his Oscar-winning turn as Freddie Mercury.
