Opening in August 2008, The Bristol Bear Bar has become the place to be for bear,cub and the likes. Open seven days a week with a very welcoming atmosphere and retro, fun and sometimes amazingly camp music videos on the screens around the bar, it's a venue that bears have been craving and needing without knowing it, for a long time.

Although mainly a straight club, Castro's is a 400 clubber capacity venue with a basic warehouse atmosphere renowned for it's serious funky and hard house clubbing. It also host's the monthly DEVAINT & HARD club nights

Billed as Bristol's biggest gay club, Flamingos is the newcomer to the scene, taking over the venue once known as Just Winns, Flamingos was launched after a massive refurbishment as part of the drive to make the Old Market area Bristol's Gay Quarter. With a capacity of 900 and regular big name appearances, this venue is giving the others a run for their money!

Legend has it that The Griffin used to be the haunt for all of the luvvies that made the short walk or stagger up from the Colston Hall. Having a few years back become a bit of a dubious venue, The Griffin very recently underwent a lavish transformation, and sports furnishings that Carole Smilie would be proud of !

The Old Castle Green - Now a mixed venue, is at the centre of the Old Market Village, just round the corner from the Flamingos Nightclub

The Lounge is one of the many gay bar you can find in the Old Market area of the city. Recently undergoing a refurbishment this venue used to be known as Bar Prague.

Attracting the office crowd during the day, offering a superb range of food and snacks. As the evening progresses The Old Market Tavern is the favoured venue for the local 'Bear' crowd and the more mature members of the community.

The Pineapple, tends to be one of the more popular gay pubs, where scenegoers often try to go before heading to either the Shilling or Vibes. Recently redecorated, the Pineapple provides a good gay grounding for a night out in Bristol. With a mainly younger crowd, perhaps weighted slightly toward the males and occasional live DJ's.

The Queenshilling is now one of the longest surviving clubs on the Bristol scene. Attracting a good mixture of young and old, The music tends to be recent popular type stuff with some old classics thrown in now and again. 'All you can drink' promotion nights can often be held on Saturdays and various theme nights on Fridays. The QueenShilling also hosts Bristol's heat of Mr Gay UK.
