Straight Spouses in the West
Over the last couple of years we’ve seen some very high-profile ‘straight’ marriages put under the spotlight as one partner has either been publicly outed or has decided to come clean about his or her sexuality. Take the case of Mark Oaten, the Liberal Democrat MP whose 13-year marriage was left in tatters after revelations about his sex life, or Michael Barrymore who spent two decades with his wife before famously outing himself in a London pub.

Pink Face : The Pink Panda Show
It may seem surprising in this liberated age, but here in the West we have a very poor record on portraying homosexuality in animation. Outside of South Park’s Big Gay Al, the Simpson’s Patty Bouvier and Waylon Smithers, the recently-cancelled Drawn Together’s Xandir P. Wifflebottom and Queer Duck - the first animated TV series to have homosexuality as its predominant theme – just about the only gay characters you find are in Japanese animation.

Bath tops Brighton in Gay Survey
Bath has been named as the second most romantic gay city in the UK - beating competition from Brighton, Oxford and Edinburgh, according to a poll conducted by a dating website with 17 per cent of those surveyed thought Bath was the most romantic city in the UK.
