HIV and sexual health charity Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) is launching an all day ‘STI Testival’ in Bristol, encouraging local people to test for HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

The 17th May each year marks IDAHO day. It was started to raise awareness of Homophobia and Transphobia throughout the world. It has become truly global and its ideals have been discussed in the General Assembly of the United Nations.

Flamingos, the South West’s largest LGBT nightclub, is hosting a massive fundraiser for Pride Bristol on Saturday 17 April.

Pride is a celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.  Unifying and inclusive events, Pride festivals run like a Mexican wave across the globe. Over 1 million people visited Pride London in 2009 and in 2010, Bristol finally shows its Pride.

Last year thousands of people across the UK united in their support of Terrence Higgins Trust on World AIDS Day, 1 December.

Schools, colleges, universities, pubs, clubs, churches, shops, theatres, trade unions and government offices (to name but a few) all helped to make a big noise about HIV and AIDS on this important day. From students selling red ribbons to celebrities designing exclusive bags, the world was forced to take notice!
