We’re bringing My Beautiful Laundrette back to the big screen! One picked by you guys and often topping the lists of LGBT film 100s this film was the very first outing of Daniel Day Lewis and tells the story of an ambitious Asian Briton and his white lover striving for success, and hope, when they open up a glamorous laundromat.
Telling the story of Thatcher’s Britain this story is as much about socio-economic and racial inequalities as it is about the love story between Omar and street punk Johnny.
Of course expect our usual twists and we’re even turning part of the Odeon into our own Laundrette Bar which will be open for drinks pre and post film plus watch out for some washer ‘women’ you might just recognise….
