The Mailcoach pulls back into town

Swindon’s popular gay venue, The Mailcoach, is due to reopen next month following a change of ownership. The venue, based in the town’s Fleet Street has been closed since the New Year following what was believed to have been pressure from the brewery.

Due to open on the 1st of April, The Mailcoach is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment, with all internal decoration and fittings being demolished and removed. The garden has also been fully overhauled. Plans by the new team, Martin Jones & Roger Essex, include dividing the venue into a separate pub and club.

The rear of the venue will be operated as The Mailcoach pub, while the other half of the venue, which fronts Fleet Street, will become a club, as yet un-named.
