Indigo : In Memory of Debra Boyask

Indigo : In Memory of Debra Boyask

Lesbian networking group Indigo is inviting those in the lesbian community to join them to celebrate the life of Debra Boyask, a hugely important local figure in the local LGBT community who passed away recently.

Debra – who was also known as Debra Teacake, was the founder of the lesbian network “sociability” (amongst many other things).

Indigo are dedicating May Indigo, which is being held on Thursday 16th May to the memory of Debra, and will be collecting for the NSPCC at the event. Indigo for one owes a lot to her work and social spirit!

Many new guests come each month, many of these arrive on their own. To find out more about Indigo, or if you’re coming alone, you can arrange to meet up with one of our friendly hosts at the event. Simply email Suzanne@indigonetwork.co.uk. Alternatively just turn up on the night, and we’ll make sure that we say hello!

About the Night

8 pm – 8.45 pm: Icebreaker – Apples to Apples

Our icebreaker games are always popular, and a great way to meet and chat to new people. In celebration of Debra we’ll be playing her favourite game ‘apples to apples’. Apparently (!) it’s great fun, easy to play and whether you knew Debra or you not, is all about people interacting and laughing. Please arrive for 8 pm if you can.

8.45 pm – 9 pm: Tributes & Sociability Update

Do you know about Sociability? Friends of Debra and the team now running sociability will say a few words about Debra, about how the free online email network works, and about how you can get involved.

9 pm onwards: Regular Indigo Drinks

Please note that everyone is welcome to May Indigo. We hope it to be a positive and inspiring event. Perhaps you knew Debra, perhaps you didn’t. Either way please do come along and help us to celebrate the people who make a difference to our community.
