Swindon’s Pink Rooms To Relaunch
Swindon’s Pink Rooms is to close on March 23rd, and will re-open on the 27th under a new name.
The club, located in Victoria Road has been a popular LGBT venue, and one of only 2 dedicated venues in Swindon, has not revealed whether the new club will be classed a LGBT venue, or whether it will cater for all.
Announcing the news on their Facebook Page, The Manager posted ;
Over the last 6 years of the club being open you have supported us through various moments & as a venue we salute you for that.
You have seen us go from strength to strength & you have been there to share our triumphs & invest in the many memories of the clubs history.
When the club was taken over, we had a view of having a positive effect on the gay scene & trying to change the way the LGBT Community are perceived.
We have provided, to the best of our power, a safe venue for you to come to with your friends, somewhere you can feel comfortable & be yourself.
In light of the excellent progress we are making as a country on equality & marriage, we are another step closer to the vision of unity the LGBT community has fought so valiantly for.
With this vision & progress in mind, we would like to share with you our idea of the next step of unity.
As of 23rd march 2014 the venue known as The Pink Rooms will close it’s doors as the Pink Rooms for the final time and on 27th march will open it’s doors, renamed, well that’s top secret at the moment, with a new sound system, new decor & a new look club. A venue where every person from any walk of life can feel free to party together, laugh together, cry together & most importantly live alongside each other without any prejudice.
As our loyal customers, we wanted you to be the first to share in our vision of the future & we hope that you will continue to grace our dance floor as you have done for so long.
On a personal note, as the manager of the Pink Rooms, I would like to say thank you for all the support & respect you have all shown both personally to me & to the venue & I hope this will continue through my time as owner.
A ‘massive team pink farewell party’ is planned on Saturday 22nd March to mark the closure.
