Swindon College Continue To Host LGBT Youth Group

Swindon College have recently announced that they are continuing to host Swindon Pride Youth Group.

The group, which ran successfully last year, offers support for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender) young people aged between 14 and 18 – and those who may be unsure of their sexuality – in a supportive environment.

It provides the opportunity to make new friends, talk about any issues and take part in activities in a fun environment.

The group runs every Wednesday from 6.00pm – 8.00pm term time only, in the Enrichment Centre at Swindon College. You don’t have to be LGBT to join the group and friends are welcome. It is a confidential group with no consent forms necessary to join.

The group’s Facebook fan page is for the entire community regardless of sexual orientation. Liking the page shows your friends that you support people regardless of their sexuality.

Two young people who are proud to be a part of the group commented “You’ve introduced me to some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met, who I am proud to call my ‘family’. Without everyone there I wouldn’t be who I am now.”

“It helped me come out to my parents. The stories from the group members are so inspiring and the staff are hilarious!”
