It’s Time For A Bear Fiesta!
With Summer just around the corner, one of Bristol’s big scene events – The Bristol Bear Fiesta, is coming to town.
Taking place from 6th to 8th June, the weekend-long social brings hundreds of guys into the city to sample the local delights and sights as well as some specially organised events.
One of the organisers behind the weekend, Bobby, told us “We are really looking forward to this years Bristol Bear Fiesta in June as we have been gathering a lot of interest on-line with more and more guys joining our Facebook group and ‘Liking’ our page every week saying they will be attending. When the three of us took over ‘BBF’ last June along with it’s sister event in December, Southern HiBearnation, we were determined to carry on making them fun and tongue-in-cheek like the original organisers did so we try and choose a theme that makes it easy to encourage guys to ‘dress up’ as it always proved to be popular in the past, hence this years choice of ‘Bears At The Beach’.”
Kicking off on Friday 6th, the weekend begins this year with pre-drinks in The Old Market Tavern from 8pm before the ‘Meet & Greet’ event starts at the Bristol Bear Bar from 9pm. The BBF Team will be there from 9pm to 11pm where you can come and collect any reserved weekend tickets, buy last minute ones if any are left, and ask the organisers any questions you may have.
The Friday night ends with ‘Club Tropicana’ from 11pm onwards at The Retreat where DJ Daddi will be on the decks til late, playing his usual fun mix of tunes, keeping the dancing going into the small hours.
Saturday’s events include a day trip to Weston Super Mare, before the evening kicks off with the ‘Hair-waiian Beach Party’ being held at the Bristol Bear Bar. Sunday wind’s down with the ‘Bucket & Spade Brunch’ which is being held at The Phoenix from Noon.
Now in it’s eleventh year, the weekend proves popular with both those that have been to previous events, and those who have never been to Bristol before. “We were very flattered to have been nominated in the ShoutOut Listeners Awards 2014 and were very pleased when we were announced as Runner Up in the ‘Best Men’s Event’ category in our first year. It has really encouraged us to pull out all the stops for both events this year as a lot of guys have said how much they enjoyed them in 2013.” Bobby continued.
