Bristol’s First Leather Weekend Announced
Local group, LeatherWest has announced it will be holding the city’s first Leather Weekend event.
Following on from similar already established events such as The Bristol Bear Fiesta, which brings hundreds of visitors to the city, LeatherWest have organised a weekend of leather fun designed to celebrate the gay leathermen’s community in the region which will include a range of events including social and workshops, aimed to entertain, educate and engage all leathermen.
Being held from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th October, the weekend will start with a welcome session where all of the information for the weekend will be available and will also offer the opportunity to meet with representatives of Avon and Somerset Police who will help us in the group’s aim to stop hate crimes and to keep our community safe.
The Friday’s events continue with a Freshman Social – a meet & greet event to meet those who have arrived in town for the weekend, followed by a BLUF Dinner and BLUF#7 event.
On Saturday, during the day, A book stall, Workshops and Leather Speed Date will take place. Also on Saturday the inaugural Mr LeatherWest competition is being held. This event will set a new standard for regional title contents and help to establish a credible and meaningful role for leathermen to be ambassadors for our community.
On Saturday Night, UNION is LeatherWest’s night for all leathermen to get together and celebrate their fetish. UNION is quickly establishing itself as the quality night for guys into leather and it’s a great first time event for those new to the community.
The final day will consist of a Ride Out, which will see leather bikers assemble before riding out to enjoy the spectacular Hoggin’ The Bridge event. This sees thousands of bikers assemble to ride across the old Severn Bridge to Chepstow in a celebration of biking culture. After the event, LeatherWest bikers will return for a well earned drink and Sunday Lunch. A Grand Leather Quiz will round off the weekend.
Tickets for events, and more details can be found on the LeatherWest website.
