Swindon & Wiltshire Pride Postponed

Swindon & Wiltshire Pride Postponed

Following recent speculation, and the closure of the town’s main supporting venue, Swindon & Wiltshire Pride has been postponed for 2018.

The news was broken at a Eurovision fundraiser party, held at The Regent Hotel and was also posted on Facebook.

Swindon and Wiltshire Pride has brought communities together over the last ten years, showcasing local, national and international talent and adding more than a splash of colour to Swindon and Wiltshire.

The planning of what we believe to be the largest free community event in the south west is no small task. We have had our challenges this year, among them the loss of our main fundraising venue.

Therefore, this year we have decided to step back, take a breath and regroup in planning for the next Swindon and Wiltshire Pride event.

Consequently, there will be no main event in 2018 and all our efforts will be put into raising funds and awareness for a main event planned for 2019.

Hey, even Glastonbury has a year off occasionally!

We are still going to hold an event on the 11th of August, at the Regent Hotel. Watch this space for more info, and we are also going to keep fundraising for 2019

The postponement of the event follows the closure of the events main supporter, and the Town’s only LGBT venue – The Mailcoach.
