The Bears Are Coming To Bristol
With Summer just starting, one of Bristol’s big scene events – The Bristol Bear Fiesta, is coming to town.
Taking place from 1st to 3rd June, the weekend-long social brings hundreds of guys into the city to sample the local delights and sights as well as some specially organised events with a theme, this years is a Rugby one.
Now in it’s 15th year, the weekend proves popular with both those that have been to previous events, and those who have never been to Bristol before. The event can also boast to be award winning as in 2015 and 2017 ‘Bristol Bear Fiesta and Southern HiBearnation’ won ‘Best Men’s Event’ in the ShoutOut Awards.
Kicking off on Friday 1st, the Bristol Bear Fiesta starts in the traditional home for the weekend – the Bristol Bear Bar which opens at 7pm for the customary start of the weekend – the Meet & Greet launch party. Bristol Bear Bar’s resident award-winning DJ, DJ Daddi hosts a special BBF15 version of his ever-popular Pop Nation night with all the usual camp, pop, cheesiness that entails to start the weekend with a party that will last into the early hours of Saturday morning!
For this year’s Bear Fiesta edition of Pop Nation, the Bristol Bear Bar are joined by Drag Idol 2011 winner, Son of a Tutu who has become a much-loved act on the Bristol gay scene over the last few years
On Saturday the day has been left open for people to explore the many leisure, tourist and shopping attractions that the city has to offer.
Saturday’s main event is BEARPIT – the award-winning LGBT club night, again based at BBB. No dresscode is necessary but Rugby outfits are encouraged tonight for the weekends’ theme so pull on those rugger tops and shorts, grab those funny shaped balls and join in the fun for club classics, dance, funky tunes and a bit of cheese with DJ Daddi at the helm again until the early hours of Sunday morning.
Sundays are always a relaxing wind-down part of the bear weekends after the long Friday and Saturday nights and gives a chance to rest and enjoy the beautiful city of Bristol. There is plenty to see and do around the city and if you are still with us in the evening be sure to join us from 5pm onwards when the Bristol Bear Bar opens for the final night of the Bristol Bear Fiesta weekend.
RAVEN (Bristol’s premier monthly fetish party for men) also takes place Sunday evening across the road from the Bristol Bear Bar, at The Lads Locker Room bar and sauna, 19-21 West Street from 7pm until Midnight.
