Swindon’s Rainbow Walk Revealed

Swindon’s Rainbow Walk Revealed

For weeks, Swindon & Wiltshire Pride have been working on a secret project, which has now been revealed.

Called Rainbow Walk, it has been described as the new inclusive stairway to the town’s Theatre Square.

Rainbow Walk was installed by Swindon and Wiltshire Pride & Friends and it represents Swindon’s continuing commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity for the LGBTQ+ community.

The scheme was completed with help from local branches of B&Q, Wickes and Homebase who all donated materials for the project as well as local business Newjax who also helped by pressure washing the Steps.

A spokesman said: “We would like to thank everybody who made this happens including The Wyvern Theatre for their support and of course Swindon Borough Council for approving the project and letting the Town celebrate diversity in such a creative way. And of course the committee members and friends who put in the hard work to make this happen.”

The Pride committee have plenty of upcoming events planned to ensure the success of next year’s main Pride event. These include the UV White Party being held on Saturday 24th November at Level III where you’ll receive a free shot on arrival, get balls deep in the HUGE adult ball pit, pout in the photo booth and wave your glow sticks on the dance floor to all the biggest tunes until 3am!

On Saturday 22nd December, The Christmas Party is being held at The Regent Hotel in the town.
