Anti-LGBTI group enraged by same-sex Walmart ad
Walmart's Love in the Aisled advertisement featured a same-sex couple

A Walmart ad featuring two gay men has enraged an anti-LGBTI group in the US.

The Love in the Aisle advert posted on Facebook shows Andy and Pat go on a blind date in Walmart.

They crack jokes and flirt in the aisles of the US retail giant. It is a little bit cringe, but also quite adorable.

The ad has, however, enraged the evangelical anti-LGBTI group the American Family Association (AFA).

AFA president Tim Wildmon accused Walmart of normalizing homosexual relationships.

‘I honestly never thought Walmart would join the cultural revolution and reject the beliefs of its customer base,’ said in a statement

‘It’s clear that Walmart is on the path of elevating homosexual relationships to the same level as the male-female model of marriage’ Wildmon wrote.

Wildmon also claimed that late Walmart founder Sam Walton, a devout Christian, ‘is probably turning over in his grave’.

He urged members to write to Walmart demanding the company remove ‘the pro-homosexual video and remain neutral on the controversial issue of homosexuality’.

As usual, the video invited both positive and negative responses from online users.

‘ You have got to be kidding. No more Walmart for me and my family. Very disappointing.’ Kristi Shade wrote.

‘Done with Walmart too…so tired of the minority’s push in my face…4.5% of the population, NOT 95%..’ Pamela Sullivan wrote.

There were plenty of Facebook users who supported the ad, however.

‘Thank you Walmart for promoting unconditional love which we seem to have very little of nowadays’ Nadleehli Leal wrote.

Walmart thanked Leal for sharing the love.

Another commenter, Rafael Moh, suggested it would be nice if Walmart re-stocked its shelves more regularly.

Brian Shoemaker, meanwhile, complained about missing parts in a porch swing he bought online.
