New LGBTQ Night Announced For Swindon

Swindon can look forward to a new LGBTQ night coming soon.
Those who remember the Swindon venues ‘The Pink Rooms’ and ‘The Mailcoach’ will also recall the disappointment when they eventually closed their doors for the last time, leaving a hole in the LGBTQ nightlife of the town. However, an exciting new chapter is about to begin, with an announcement that an Old Town venue will be hosting a monthly LGBTQ club night.
Yard 93 – the stylish wine bar on Victoria Road – will be hosting the regular event on the second Saturday of the month from October.
Owner Louise Field said, “We have been talking to members of the LGBTQ community and it was very clear they wanted a place to go, where they can socialise with like minded people, enjoying a night out and feel comfortable. ”
“Themed venues and nights are always popular; Irish bars, music bars and R&B nights, and this is no different. Come and join us for the launch night on Saturday 12th October.”
Laws may have changed, but the need for a safe space remains as important as ever, and Swindon & Wiltshire Pride have championed the move.
Phoenix Stewart, from the organisation, said, “Queer venues have always been a place of historic importance, a space to be yourself and find their place in the community. So it’s fantastic to see the team at Yard 93 creating a new piece of history for the LGBTQ community of Wiltshire.”
The night will be held at Yard 93 in Old Town, on the second Saturday of the month, from Saturday October 12th.
