Building Safe Choices – Older LGBT+ Housing Survey
If you are over 50, live in London and identify as LGBT+ we would love to hear from you!
Tonic Living, Opening Doors London and Stonewall Housing are working together on a research project to better understand the housing and support needs of LGBT+ people who are over 50 and live in London.
Do you know where you want to live as you get older? Have you thought about the options that may be available to you as an older LGBT+ person? And you can let us know what you think about your current housing. We have launched a survey to find out more about what people want and need. We have focused on London initially but this work may be extended to other locations if funding is available.
You can help inform our research by completing our questionnaire, which takes about ten minutes to complete and is anonymous. Between January and April 2020 we hope that hundreds of older LGBT+ individuals will share their views with us so that we can evidence the demand for safe and welcoming housing for our communities. The Building Safe Choices Survey report will be published in May 2020 and will be widely available.
Our survey is now live and available to complete on-line here
If you prefer to complete a paper copy of the survey, you can contact Opening Doors London on 07498 025476 or email email@example.com and we will post you the questionnaire and a prepaid envelope for you to return it to us.
If you would like to complete the survey by speaking to one of our volunteers or staff on the phone please call us on 07498 025476 and we will arrange a time for someone to ring you to go through the questionnaire.
Please encourage your friends to take part – we want to hear from lots of older LGBT+ people!
Our team will also be coming to a number of ODL and other events and activities, where there will be an opportunity to discuss the issues in a small group and complete the questionnaire. If you are interested in this please contact us so we can let you know about the dates and locations of these events.
