Ryan Murphy confirms he is working on Scream Queens season three
Horror-comedy TV series Scream Queens looks set for a revival on Netflix with creator Ryan Murphy confirming he is working on a new series.
The satirical comedy slasher television series aired on Fox for just two series from September 2015 to December 2016.
It saw high-profile stars including Jamie Lee Curtis, Nick Jonas and Ariana Grande delivering the sharp and often tasteless TV magic. And while reviews were mixed, it won a loyal cult following.
Every since, LGBT+ fans have been at the forefront of demanding a return of the series. And now Ryan Murphy is granting their wish.
Murphy replied to an Instagram post calling for the show to be revived on Netflix with the comment: ‘Working on that!’
The screenwriter, director and producer famous for other LGBT+ favorites including Glee, American Horror Story and Pose has recently signed a deal to produce exclusive content for Netflix.
‘It better be true’
It’s not the first time Murphy has indicated Scream Queens may return.
Early in 2019 he confirmed that Emma Roberts Billie Lourd and Lea Michelle – who all featured in the first two seasons – are interested in returning.
He said at the time: ‘So many people recently have been asking me about rebooting or continuing Scream Queens.
‘Emma, Billie, Lea and I have mused on it, but question: should it be a six episode limited? A catch up movie? Who should I bring back? Would love your thoughts. So many questions…’
Now fans have noticed that Murphy has also started following Ariana Grande on Instagram. He only follows three people with one of them being his husband David Millar. Does that mean she will be returning to Scream Queens too despite being killed off in the show?
Meanwhile Netflix has not yet confirmed anything. But many fans are taking Murphy’s comments as confirmation.
One said: ‘Scream Queens season 3 is official and going to be on Netflix.’
Another commented ‘It better be true’ while someone else told Murphy: ‘Thank you so much king, I love you.’
