Streaming platform Hulu has released the latest trailer for new TV series Love, Victor and it gives the clearest glimpse so far into what the show has in store.

The series is a spin-off from gay teen romantic comedy Love, Simon which became the LGBT+ movie hit of the year in 2018. But Love, Victor focuses on a new student at Creekwood High School who has just arrived from Texas.

The 10 episode series follows Victor (Michael Cimino) on a journey of self-discovery as he faces challenges at home and struggles with his sexual orientation. And he reaches out to Simon when it seems too difficult for him to navigate high school.

Hulu will release all 10 episodes on 19 June.

A previous teaser trailer had already seen Victor get hilariously hot and steamy over fellow Creekwood High student and barista Benjy (George Sear).

But the new trailer shows that Victor’s feelings for Benjy will be a major theme:

In the trailer Victor shares his hopes for his move to Creekwood saying:

‘I thought I’d finally get the chance to be myself, or at least figure out who that even is’.

And he adds: ‘My story is confusing. Some guys like guys, some guys like girls, some guys like both. I’m not even sure what I like.’

Meanwhile, as well as figuring out his own identity, the trailer shows Victor is also struggling at home.

But he’s determined that ‘16 will be the year I finally figure out what I want.’

The show will also star Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty), Isabella Ferreira (Orange is the New Black), Mateo Fernandez (This Is Us) and Mason Gooding (Booksmart).

New Simonverse novella coming soon

Moreover, Simonverse fans have another treat coming from its creator Becky Albertalli next month too.

Albertalli wrote the book Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda which became Love, Simon.

And she has promised her new novella – Love, Creekwood – will come out on 30 June.
