Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci star as gay couple in first trailer for Supernova
Looking for some big sceen entertainment? Two major queer-themed movies head to theaters in the next couple of months. Much has already been written about Ammonite, starring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan as Victorian-era fossil hunters who fall in love. That movie hits theaters November, 13, in the US. The second is Supernova, which stars Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci.
The first trailer for Supernova went online yesterday. The movie makes its world premiere at the San Sebastián International Film Festival tomorrow (September, 24).
The actors play Sam (Firth) and Tusker (Tucci), a couple of 20 years standing. Tusker was diagnosed with early-onset dementia two years previously, and the men are now taking every opportunity to enjoy their time together before Tusker’s condition deteriorates further. The romantic drama captures them on a road trip around the north of England.
