Donald Trump’s lesbian niece Mary warns he will go ‘farther than you can imagine’ to keep power

Donald Trump will go ‘farther than you can possibly imagine’ to hold on to power, his lesbian niece Mary has warned.
Moreover, Mary Trump accuses the president of finding being ‘hateful’ to the LGBT+ community useful to him. And she says he is ‘particularly vicious’ to trans people.
She was talking at an online fundraiser for LPAC, an organization focused on electing LGBTQ women.
It followed a White House press conference last week where a journalist challenged Trump over what would happen if he lost in the 3 November elections. The journalist asked if he would guarantee a peaceful transition of power to Democratic rival Joe Biden.
Trump replied he would only accept the results if mail-in ballots are removed – something that isn’t going to happen.
He said: ‘Well, we’re going to have to see what happens. Get rid of the ballots and you’ll have a peaceful … there won’t be a transfer, frankly, there’ll be a continuation.’
Mary Trump is a vocal critic of her uncle. She recently made headlines with her book ‘Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man’.
Now she warns his comments are not just bluster. Indeed, she told Huffington Post they should be taken very seriously.
In particular, she says Trump is desperate to cling on to power because he fears criminal prosecution if he leaves office. Meanwhile, some of his allies will also lose their protection if he isn’t in the White House.
Mary Trump said: ‘He’s cheating. He’s been cheating for a while now.’
‘Being cruel really plays well with his supporters’
She added: ‘He’s cheating when he tells people that mail-in ballots are fraudulent somehow. He’s cheating when he started calling into question the legitimacy of the election before a vote was even cast.’
And she said: ‘He’s cheating when he says if Joe Biden wins, it’s rigged…. He’s also cheating when he tells people if we don’t get the results on Nov. 3 ― which, by the way, during the pandemic would be ridiculous ― if we have to wait, that it’s also rigged, somehow.’
Moreover, she said she hadn’t talked to her uncle about her sexuality because he wasn’t interested.
However, she did reveal her view of Trump’s real attitude to LGBT+ Americans.
Mary Trump said: ‘I don’t think he cares. I don’t think we’re of interest to him, except insofar as he can use being hateful toward the LGBTQ community – taking away our rights with the stroke of a pen – as useful to him.’
Despite this, she warned he doesn’t like difference and is ‘particularly vicious’ towards transgender people:
‘Donald is somebody who just can’t handle difference, and it makes him really uncomfortable.
‘I think if you have a problem with somebody’s difference, you’re the problem, not them. But, of course, he doesn’t see it that way and unfortunately has a lot of power over people’s lives.
‘His lack of caring, his discomfort with difference and his knowing that being cruel really plays well with the only people left who support him ― it’s a trifecta, unfortunately.’
