Pride Pop-Up Shop Returns To Swindon For Christmas

The Swindon and Wiltshire Pride pop-up shop is set for a return, thanks to the support of the local community.

The temporary store opens on 31st October for selected weekends throughout November and December and again is located in the town’s Brunel Centre.

Phoenix Stewart, the charity’s community engagement manager said: “We brought back the Pride Pop up space in June as a way to engage with the community face to face. Over 350 people visited the shop over 7 days with many coming out for the first time since lockdown. We’re delighted to be returning for the run upto Christmas.”

To help make the space safe, the charity launched a campaign for donations including screens and hand sanitizer. Thanks to their efforts, the shop will be returning once again. Phoenix continued, “The community have been absolutely paramount in helping us to return.

We’d like to thank all of those who donated, as well as Inswindon and The Brunel Shopping Centre, who have been extremely supportive of making this happen.”

The shop will provide a safe space, a chance to meet the committee, as well as an opportunity to pick up Pride Christmas gifts raising money for Swindon & Wiltshire Pride 2021 which is sponsored by Nationwide Building Society.

The store will be open in the Brunel Centre on selected dates from Saturday 31st October to Sunday 20th December.
