East 17 To Headline Swindon & Wiltshire Pride

English pop boy band East 17 have been confirmed as the headliner for Swindon & Wiltshire Pride on Saturday 7th August.

East 17 will be performing as their main headliner at the festival which will be held once more in Swindon’s Town Gardens.

East17 were a popular boy bands during the early to mid-1990s with hits such as It’s Alright, House of Love and their UK Christmas number one, “Stay Another Day”.

Also confirmed is none other than Drag Race UK Season Two queen Veronica Green. Veronica is a musical theatre star and singer who starred in many productions such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat before her time on the competition reality show Drag Race UK.

Jo Sharpe chairperson of Swindon & Wiltshire Pride said ” Swindon and Wiltshire Pride continues to be a free event celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and is sure to be a fun-filled day of pride, rainbows and entertainment. The day will be one to remember with a family circus zone, shopping stalls, art and craft zone and so much more”

Swindon & Wiltshire Pride have worked hard to make the event even more accessible this year a Mobiloo (pop-up Changing Places Facility) will be available with a hoist, adult-sized changing bench and all else you’d expect to find in a fully accessible toilet.

The park is fully accessible with ramping to all areas. Some areas can be uneven and due caution should be used. Parking zones along Quarry Road will be coned-off for disabled parking. There will also be sign language interpreters for the main stage sponsored by Arval helping make Pride accessible.

Swindon & Wiltshire Pride has made a few changes to this year’s event so there will be no parade. The event will start at midday right until 10:20, but the party continues at Level 3 nightclub Danny Beard (tickets are available via the Pride website) .Contactless payments are encouraged and if you have any Covid symptoms we recommend you stay home to keep yourself and others safe.
