Swindon & Wiltshire Pride Recruiting New Members For 2022

Applications are now open to join Swindon & Wiltshire Pride’s 2022 committee.

Volunteers are needed from all walks of life to help run the charity for the next year, as well as host the main 2022 Pride event itself.

Last year’s event saw record numbers, with more than 10,000 people attending throughout the day, where headliners Veronica Green and East-17 transformed the Town Gardens into a sea of colour.

Committee members meet fortnightly to share opinions and talk about new ideas they can bring to the community as well as engaging in outreach work.

Community Engagement Manager Phoenix Stewart said: “Swindon & Wiltshire Pride is a community event, which is organised by volunteers from the community. As a charity, we pride ourselves on giving back, individually through volunteering and by putting on an amazing event each year!”

He added: “By joining the committee you can learn and develop skills, and be part of something special, throughout the year. Volunteering has changed my life, and we welcome everyone in our Pride family.”

Now in its 13th year, the annual festival is a day that celebrates the diversity of the town with various local organisations, service providers and charities joining forces, as well as 2 stages for entertainment.

Swindon & Wiltshire Pride is committed to equal opportunity, as well as encouraging people from marginalised and minority backgrounds to apply so they can ensure better representation of all groups of people.
