Registration now open for the Autumn Intake of the Foundation Certificate in LGBT+ Affirmative Counselling Skills

elop’s Foundation Certificate in LGBT+ Affirmative Counselling Skills is open to all LGBT+ community members and allies and is suitable for people interested in starting the journey to a future career in counselling and psychotherapy.

Gender, sexuality and relationship diversity are not explored with consistency or sufficient depth in current counselling training. elop has uniquely embedded LGBT+ experiences at the heart of the course to equip learners to demonstrate inclusivity in practice. By learning through an affirmative, intersectional & inclusive lens, people will be in a better position to understand and support clients with care and compassion.

This experiential course is delivered through a mix of online and in-person sessions and includes theory; practical counselling skills; personal development; and reflection.

Here’s what previous students have said:

  • Wonderful, challenging, thought-provoking
  • This course has given me so much and I have grown with it
  • It’s been great to learn in a Queer space – so different from other courses I have been on

The Level 3 equivalent Foundation Certificate is delivered over three months and begins on 10th September. Registration is now open.

We will be hosting 2 online sessions where you will be able to hear more about the course, meet the Programme Lead and ask any questions you may have. Dates for these events are as follows:

2nd August  1.00 – 2.00

9th August  1.00 – 2.00
