On Sunday 23rd July from 6.15pm at the Watershed in Bristol, we are presenting …..THT GOES WEST: An Evening of Cabaret
This is to support the fundraising for a Bristol Civic Society Heritage plaque to commemorate 25 years of our time in 8-10 West Street.   It promises to be a very special night  hosted by local celebrity Jon Monie, with the fabulously gorgeous  Singing  Escorts, the wonderful   Sing Out Bristol, the indomitable Kizzy Morrell, award winning comedy drag act Pearl & Deen , West End Cabaret Star  Ben Stock; and THT’s very own Sarah Fuhrmann singing ‘Wishing you were here again’ from Phantom of the Opera …. and there’s so much more – it’s hard to imagine a more spectacular evening!!
The plaque we are fundraising for will be unveiled on or around World Aids Day this year and will be an important reminder for all who pass our former home of both ART & THT’s time there.  I have included below an excerpt from Pete Connors speech at our goodbye event which best describes why this plaque will be important to many:

‘This remarkable 18th Century building has had countless habitants.  Generation upon generation have lived and worked here and for the past 25 years, we too have worked, played, laughed and cried here in an attempt to deal with the challenges of HIV.  Some of us have survived and some have not. This building will hopefully stand for many years to come and provide a base for more people doing amazing things. I do believe that the energies and echoes of those who have gone before, including us here today and those we have lost, will remain forever in the fabric of this wonderful building. Thank-you’

So please do support us and come along – you WILL NOT regret it!!  Tickets cost £15 (plus £1.50 booking fee) and are available from the Bristol Ticket Shop:  / 0117 929 9008 (click ‘The Watershed’ on their listings)
