Challenge Cup Returns To Bristol

The Bristol Challenge Cup, a local 5 a-side football tournament returns to Bristol this weekend celebrating it’s fifth anniversary.

The Cup was formed in 2009 shortly after the re-formation of Bristol Panthers Football Club and was originally intended to re-introduce the Panthers to local gay-friendly football clubs through a 5 a-side tournament.

2013 marks the 5th year of the cup and is intended to attract over 20 football teams from across the UK via the GFSN and local football clubs all gathering on Saturday 23rd February.

The organisers have confirmed that the venue for the tournament has been confirmed as the Goals Centre in Filton North Bristol. Bristol Panthers Tournament Organiser, David Lillington, said “This will be the 5th year we have held the tournament at Goals in Filton and we are delighted to be going back again for 2013. The added bonus with Goals Centres are that they also provide the referee’s ensuring neutrality and the bar is close by for spectators.”
